Don't Forget!

This course has really stiumlated some fresh ideas to apply to our preschool program.
These are a few "notes to self" as I begin to evaluate our current program:

1.  Use the Code of Ethics to inspire and refocus my staff at the end of the school year and also when we start up again in August.
2.  Raymond Hernandez's quote "You don't have to know everything, you just have to know how to use your resources" (Laureate, 2010).
3.  Remember to reflect and learn from mistakes.
4.  Read Lilian Katz article on Social Competence Assessment (ERIC March 2001)
and re-read NAEYC statement on Early Childhood Curriculum Assessment, and Program Evaluation

  1. Suzanne, when I read this week's blog assignment, your name quickly came to mind. It was truly a pleasure reading all your posts and comments. I appreciate all the advice you gave, as well as all your kind words of encouragement. It is quite evident that you enjoy working in this field, and although you have 15 years of experience, you are still receptive to new information and practices. I loved the way we were both inspired by the same two presenters in the video on more than one occassion, that just speaks to their authenticity & passion and that we share a similar passion. That being said, I hope our dialogue doesn't end here, but that we can support each other throughout the duration of this degree program. I wish you all the best in your personal and career endeavors. May God bless you and your husband. Ps. Say hi to Abby for me :)

  3. Hi Suzanne, It has been nice knowing you and learning with you. Your comments to my posts has been really inspiring and motivating. Getting to know you and your upbringing through your post on your childhood web and relating to it with my own experience, made me connect to you better. I wish you all the best in all your future plans and hope we will be able to stay in touch throughout the rest of our journey in early childhood education.

  4. Suzanne- I really enjoyed reading your blog each week. I feel that we have a special connection because we both are Center Directors. It is difficult to understand what it is like to run a program unless you actually do so on a daily basis. Thank you so much for sharing your insight on a weekly basis. I hope to see you in future classes.
